Festivus.

On Saturday I was covered head to toe in mud and I loved it.

Wall Art.

If you know me very well at all, you know that art projects are not my strong suit. My artistic abilities end once I put down my camera. It's just a fact. A fact that I've come to terms with. I did, however, find a little do it yourself (DIY if you will) on a blog I read that seemed pretty darn easy. Even for me. So I made my way to the thrift store, picked up some cool old records, found paint colors I liked, and BAM I made some great wall art.

Waffle House.

When I was freshman I had a crush on a boy. I know, shocking. For real though, I had a crush on EVERY boy freshman year and it just so happens that my first ever experience with Waffle House happened on a night with this boy crush. I think I ordered hash browns. The only part of that fun fact that relates to this is that I once again went to Waffle House tonight. This time with my friend Kyle.

It's only appropriate to go to Waffle House after midnight, so that's just what we did. We ate waffles, made some friends, and I even got accused of being the paparazzi. Hilarious.

One Month.

Today marked one month till graduation. I don't want to talk about it. Instead, I will show you pictures from hanging out with my friend Kyle today. Kyle is cool. I like making fun of his yellow shoes (see below), and I use him to drive me around in his brand new Camero so I can soak in the new car smell that still remains. I hope your April 22nd was wonderful!
Just taking time to smell the flowers. Literally.

Meet Stacy.

I don't really need to introduce you to her because, honestly, who DOESN'T know Stacy Laue? She loves people and Elon more than any single soul I know and has the most beautiful and contagious laugh of all time. She loves hair bows and jelly sandals and will probably be a famous novelist someday. She hates when you burp and is the only person that I respect, despite their love of cats (just kidding, but seriously). There's no body else I would rather go to Harrison's with and she's the only person who can pull off pink eye shadow that the ladies at the make-up counter love to pile on. It's true, PINK. We got our make-up done before we frolicked in these tick infested fields and Stacy rocked the pink. She's beautiful. Enjoy.
Bam. Look at those eyes.

Llamas.

Yep. Llamas. I found this place when I was driving in Burlington one day freshman year and I promised myself I would come back to check it out. Today was the day. Of course Mykel was there. We laughed so much and I'm pretty much certain that llamas are one of the most comical animals.
I can't help but literally laugh out loud whenever I look at the picture below.
This was just the best yellow. Nothing to do with llamas. Simply a pit stop along the way.

Meet Gail.

This is Gail. Her name is actually Abigail, or Abby to most, but I like to call her Gail. Gail is another one of my beautiful roommates. Gail is probably one of the most stylish people I know and I love her appreciation for vintage things. The green dress she's wearing was actually her mom's when she was our age. So cool. I love this girl a lot and I'm thankful that when I think of my home at college, she is such a beautiful part of it.

Carleigh and Matt. Engaged.

It's funny the way you meet people sometimes. It started when I met Katie on Young Life summer staff in June of 2008. We became instant friends and luckily, she lived just about 30 minutes away from me at home. The thing I love about Katie is that she has no problem intermixing her friends from different places. In situations where some would feel awkward bringing two separate groups of people together, Katie feels completely comfortable and she did just that as she welcomed me into her group of friends in VA.

Enter Carleigh and Matt. We were hanging out in Katie's basement and I vividly remember talking to Carleigh with such ease that night. Barely two weeks later, that same group of people was crammed into a tent on a camping trip. One of my fonder memories. It's always such a joy when I get to see Carleigh and Matt at church and I was super excited to hear that they were engaged this winter. Not long after, Carleigh contacted me to be their wedding photographer and we set up a time to shoot some engagement pictures. Yesterday was that day, and it was such a joy to witness the love between Carleigh and Matt. Their mutual love for Jesus is super encouraging and they truly are such an amazing couple, not to mention they braved high and itchy grass, thorns, and even a snake to get some of these shots. Pretty great. Here are some of my favorites!
