Busboys and Poets.

The first time I met Blaine I was 15 years old. I was wearing a shirt that said "Dollface" and I smelled like mulch from my high school mulch sale. Blaine is a singer and a poet and a dear friend and after several years of being out of touch we've reconnected and I'm so glad for it. Tonight we went downtown  to a place called Busboys and Poets in Arlington for a weekly open mic night. My first experience with an open mic poetry reading was in Dublin and I was just as pleased this second time around. In fact, I might even frequent this event. You won't find me performing though because I'm only capable of writing poems that rhyme and make reference to roses being red and violets being blue.

Friends since 2003.
