Remember when I went to an open mic poetry reading a few weeks ago? Well, several days later one of the featured artist's called me about shooting a poetry slam they were hosting downtown. Last Wednesday, my friend Jen and I arrived with no idea what to expect from a poetry slam. Each poet had the ability to use words in such a powerful and poignant way. Some were comical, some were not. But they were all incredible. The event was like something out of a movie and I'm so glad I got to be a part of it.
